Two New Members of the Team

God's blessings come in all forms but why I find is they often come in the form of another person. All through September, God has been turning The Restoration House upside with staff moving on to other things and new staff coming in.

Brittany, our latest Family Advocate, has been such a blessing over her time at TRH. She was great with the moms and brought a new layer of professionalism to our program. We are sad to see her go but are thankful for the new and exciting opportunities she has ahead of her.

At the same time God has brought us two new people to the team. First, Megan is serving as our Resident Family Advocate now through this coming May. She is a second year graduate student at UT's College of Social Work. She is already proving exceptional. Here is a quick note from her.

Megan"Over the next few months, I will be working closely with the Family Advocate and with the resident families to ensure the utmost wellbeing and growth for the women and children of The Restoration House. I am looking forward to forming relationships with all of the mentors and working closely with them to promote change and bring about restoration in the lives of the women and children at TRH. Thank you for all your support for these families and for your assistance in expanding the kingdom of God."

We also want to welcome to the team our new Family Advocate, Kim Spoon. Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and brings over 20 years of experience in the field. It is going to be exciting to see what God does over the coming months as Kim helps each of our families take the nexts steps in their journey toward restoration. Learn more about Kim below.

Kim Spoon"I am a native of East Tennessee, but lived in Arkansas for many years where I worked with pregnant and parenting teens through the Arkansas Department of Health's Delta Help Project. I came back home to Knoxville to attend graduate school at the UT College of Social Work where I graduated in 1995. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

I have been in social work in the Knoxville area for over 15 years and have also been an active volunteer in the community for many years. My husband, Steve, and I are parents to two black Labs, two cats, two rabbits, and two very large fish tanks. I am an avid gardener and love cooking with fresh ingredients from the garden. I am so excited about being a part of the team at The Restoration House and look forward to working with the many volunteers, different service providers, and especially the moms and their children."
