Daniel has served on staff at West Towne Christian Church for the past six years. As the Associate Minister of Outreach he helped to create networks with leaders in the community, building a solid foundation for WTCC and others to be mobilized to love and serve the greater Knoxville area. His service to the city of Knoxville began in 1997 while volunteering at the Emerald Avenue Youth Foundation. Since 2002, he has served as chaplain for the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. During the Katrina crisis of 2005, Daniel worked closely with the Compassion Coalition and other city leaders while serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for the City of Knoxville. He was responsible for all volunteers assigned to the local relief shelters including the Knoxville Convention Center. This experience encouraged him to look even further into the possibilities for low-income families in Knoxville and beyond. Daniel has a heart for young people and had the privilege of serving as the Chairman of the Board for Smoky Mountain Christian Camp in Coker Creek, TN (2002-04). |
